Synopsis:

The teacher of the town of Araceli, Pilar Guerra, has romantic relations with Luciano,the son of the mayor who does not approve of this young love. In hopes of separating them, he sends Luciano on a trip and Pilar to a different destination.

BAND: The HDC Trio This is a jazz fusion super group founded by Heliodoro ‘Dingdong’ Fiel on Piano and Keyboard, Charles Bautista on Electric bass and Harry Rodriguez on Drums. The trio are all graduates from the UST Conservatory of Music. Each member of the group has performed in and out of the country with excellence in their own instruments and genres. Their musical styles or genres include jazz, rock, pop, and classical music.

Synopsis:

The Italian epic came of age with Giuseppe de Liguoro’s imaginative silent film of the Inferno, loosely adapted from Dante and inspired by the illustrations of Gustave Doré.

Full of special effects, flashbacks, monsters, appearances and disappearances, giants, dragons, demons and other hellish apparitions, it must have had a terrific impact on viewers when it was first screened in Naples in the Teatro Mercandante on 10 March 1911.

But only a few people recognized the innovative character of this film. The film was edited, mutilated and screened in different variations. In 1987 it was possible to restore the film, even the sound and the pictures could be repaired and it looks like the original film.

BAND: Razorback. This Filipino hard rock band was formed in 1990. In 20 years of rocking the Philippines, They have proven their onstage mettle many times over, via their own club gigs to full-scale concerts in the Philippines and other parts of the world. Razorback one of the most respected rock act in Asia today.

Synopsis:

A melodrama about an orphan and her mother who are separated and lose contact, but are later reunited.

BAND: Bandang Malaya Bandang Malaya was born in response to the need of a group of musicians who came from the culture and arts sphere to create a space where they could compose music with their own language. As a musical intercultural project formed inside the historic walls of Intramuros and fiercely proud of their heritage, Malaya seeks to celebrate the indigenous Filipino culture by blending their music with contemporary rock, jazz, electronic, and other musical forms sourced from around the world

Synopsis:

The film Nosferatu – A symphony of horror is a German silent film produced by Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau. The premier was on the 04 March 1922 in Berlin. For the first time Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau showed vampires in a movie thus, making it the precursor of vampire films.

BAND: The Far Eastern University Chorale This choral group is composed of non-graduating students from different institutes of the University which was re-establishment in August, 2004 by FEU Chair, Dr. Lourdes R. Montinola. Since then, the group has performed regularly in various activities and events both inside and outside the FEU campus. The chorale is under the guidance of its conductor, artistic and musical director, Mr. Emerson M. Hernandez, a choral conducting graduate of the UST Conservatory of Music.

Synopsis:

The film tells the story of an Athenian family who wants to participate in the war. The husband volunteers and the wife soon follows as a nurse. Although the film was shot with professional actors (the two stars are actually Russian actors), the locations and soldiers are real. Excerpts from real newsreels that the Gaziadis brothers produced during the Asia Minor campaign have also been used.

The Greek Miracle is a rare example of a fiction film shot before WWII in Greece with both actors and real extras and settings.

BAND: Heliodoro ‘Dingdong’ Fiel of HDC Trio. Heliodoro ‘Dingdong’ Fiel is a member of the HDC Trio. He is a Bachelor’s graduate and the Rector’s awardee for academic excellence of the UST Conservatory of Music. He also earned his post graduate certificates from the Franz Liszt Hochschule für Musik Weimar in Germany. He has performed and won competitions in the Philippines, Asia and Europe while he attracted some composers such as the Spanish concert pianist and composer, Michael Davidov and Filipino composer, Kabaita Bautista. He is not only famous as a jazz and rock keyboardist but also as a classical concert pianist.

Synopsis:

Drawn by their forbidden passions, a beautiful Mohammedan Moro princess and her lover, a pagan pearl diver, defy religious and moral laws and flee her arranged marriage to another. The ruler of a primitive Philippine Island has promised his daughter Benita’s hand to a nearby noble chief. As the town prepares for Benita’s planned betrothal, Asan sneaks into the royal compound and steals away with his beloved. Vowing to make the infidel pay with his life, the inflamed tribesmen launch a furious pursuit to recapture their princess. Beautifully filmed on location, using local Moro tribesmen, this forgotten 1934 film provides a rare glimpse into a lost culture.

BAND: Armor Rapista and the Panday Pandikal Cultural Troupe. Solo artist Armor Rapista, dubbed as the musical scientist by the local press in the Visayas area formulates the musical score for The Brides of Sulu while the Panday Pandikal Cultural Troupe gives life to such formulas. Panday Pandikal, a collective of young Taosog artists in Jolo, Sulu was formed in December 2008 out of organizer Julpin Amin’s desire to advance Taosog culture. The film’s music therefore highlights authentic Taosog songs and local instruments like the gabbang (bamboo xylophone), agung (bass gong) and gandang (skin drum ). Moreover, sound design from bamboo sticks, metal scraps and other found objects adds excitement to the overall sound scape

Synopsis:

In a small village in Corsica, Hélène’s life, quiet and discreet, is but a day after another, all the same… A chamber maid in a hotel, she seems happy with Ange and Lisa, her husband and 15-year-old daughter. Her life seemed already written… Her modest fate changes one day when, as she makes up a hotel room, her attention is grabbed by a young American couple, in love and attractive, who are playing chess on the
terrace. Suddenly fascinated with the free and sensual communication that their relationship evokes, she takes a keen interest in chess. Hélène will do everything, obstinately, to master the rules of this game until she becomes excellent at it. She can count on the help from Mr. Kröger, a mysterious village resident, to support her in this metamorphosis, to find her freedom and her identity as a woman.

Synopsis:

Catherine and her husband Georges Lelièvre think they’ve found a real gem when they hire as their maid a discreet, quiet and illiterate girl named Sophie. Sophie has hidden her handicap from her new employers, and she finds herself facing the problem of performing simple, everyday tasks like interpreting a shopping list. Sophie becomes a friend of Jeanne, a very strange young woman torn between her job as a postal worker and an imaginary life of dreams and fantasies. Jeanne, whose past is equally dramatic, encourages Sophie to rebel against her employers. A macabre dance begins for these two cast offs, blending good and evil.

Synopsis:

She longs to give herself over, body and soul… but doesn’t know if it is to God, or something else.
